Good morning! it's kind of a dumb question but I'm just starting out:

Are there any tenants here who have used pocketwifi when starting out? if 8 hours worktime, how much load do you have?

Or any suggestions for starters like me? Web-based tools using only my client then just skype.

Thanks for the reply :)

Globe at home modem lang din akin.

home prepaid gamit ko.. 200 per week

I have Sky internet at home pero pag nagloloko nakaka 100 na load ako per day. Average of 1.5GB kasi ako per shift.

Globe at home prepaid WiFi

Ako, hanggang ngayon, 3 years nang nakapocket wifi at mobile hotspot 😂

After picking of what you think the best data plan you will use, best thing to do is review you data consumption during a day and week period. This is if you see that this arrangement will continue for some time (i.e. few months). This way you can assess your average daily and weekly data consumption and can plan better. Also, make sure to have a backup connection. Since you do Skype calls, consumption may spike depending on frequency and length of call. And being on data plan can sometimes be unreliable.

Use pldt prepaid 200 pesos per 7 days ang load.

Data sa phone - SMART - 995 per month, unlimited but maximum speed is up to 1 gb per day, after than babagal to about 1-2 mbps then 12 midnight refresh ulit. Mas gusto ko kasi ito nadadala ko anywhere, like traveling or kahit mag mall, pde ako mag data. Kumbaga two functions in one, data sa phone and net sa laptop. I hotspot mo lang sya. In our house umaabot 30-50 mbps ang smart LTE data. Sa globe they have a counterpart - Supersurf999, which is unlimited internet usage for 30 days also. But the daily cap is 800 mb then babagal ung speed until it refreshes 12 midnight. Hope it helps!

Globe at home prepaid wifi. 200 pesos 7days

+1 to globe/pldt at home - depending on the signal strength of your area.

Not unli but cost-efficient.

I have 2 wifi Globe and PLDT mas prefer ko ang Globe kasi tipid, ma utilize ko ang 199 for 7 days. Ang PLDT magastos sa load. Globe - I am using it for calls and emails for 7 days .

It actually depends on the nature of your freelance projects - kasi dun magdepende ung data consumption mo.

So if you're doing writing jobs — you don't need a lot of data. BUT if you're doing video projects... baka mas makatipid ka pa sa CBTL sa free wifi kesa magpaload haha.

If ang gameplan mo for now is patumpik-tumpik ka lang sa Upwork, a daily data plan might be cost-efficient for you (for now). However, kung seseryosohin mo, you should probably look at the week-long/month-long prepaid data plans.

Opinion ko lang po ito ^_^
