Has anyone found a way to transfer money from Chinese bank account to UK bank account since swapsy doesn’t seem to be working?

Paypal or bank if they're open and you have all your tax documents.

Set up a Chinese PayPal

Alipay. Paypal is too expensive. But if you have a bank of China account I heard It's very easy online, or through the app. I always avoided the banks but I might look into this as you need a Chinese friend to help with Alipay... and I can't be asking all the time!

Ask a chinese friend (that you trust) to help you do it via AliPay. They’ll need your BIC and IBAN, and they’ll need to fill out your & their details including home address, and a reason for the transfer. I do it now and again, transfer to them on AliPay, facilitated by the Bank of Shanghai, and it’s usually in my RBS account within 3 business days. The fee is 50RMB whether you send 100 yuan or 10,000 yuan.

Sometimes, depending on the amount (and often at random), the bank might contact you to ask for a reason for this transfer, then they release it and it’s reflected within the hour.

Swapsy has been working pretty well for me.

What is the brand of your bank card? You can go to that bank and transfer money via self-service machine.
