Job Title: General Virtual Assistant for an Online Training Company.

Type of Position: Full time (40 hours per week). Working Time Zone: Flexible (United States working hours are not required).

Job description: Thor Teaches (thorteaches.com) is an online educational services company, that specializes in video-based training in the information technology and cyber security field. We are looking for a virtual assistant to provide administrative support to our team while working remotely. As a virtual assistant, you will perform various administrative tasks, such as responding to customer reviews of our products, answering basic customer questions, maintaining mailing lists, performing basic research, and creating and formatting Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files. You should be well organized, willing to learn, and able to deliver high quality work with minimal supervision. Thor Teaches is looking to find the right virtual assistant for a long-term position. We are seeking someone who is willing to learn and grow with our company.

You do not have to be an information technology technician or cyber security expert to succeed in this position, but you will be placed into our online training program to learn to answer questions in this field for our customers.

This position does not require any outbound sales.

Skills:

  • Written and spoken English Fluency is a must:
  • Some work and most communication will happen over email or chat.
  • Once a week a staff meeting will be conducted over Facebook group calls or Skype.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Must be self-motivated and a self-starter.
  • Proven experience as a virtual assistant or similar role.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to research topics and provide written summary.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily responding to customer reviews on Udemy (Udemy.com).
  • Daily responding to customer Question and Answers on Udemy that you can answer.
  • You will refer the questions you cannot answer to our subject matter expert.
  • Daily adding members to Facebook Groups and Mailing lists.
  • Administrative tasks (Uploading files to online courses, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation creation/formatting).
  • Any suggestions on how processes should be improved.
  • Student engagement on social media.

Daily workday reporting and accountability:

  • A daily report by email will be expected providing a short summary of what was done during the day.
  • Any reviews that you believe we need to see (really good or bad reviews, reviews with great suggestions).
  • A short paragraph on other tasks completed.

Salary and benefits:

  • Starting Salary of $500-700 USD per month based on experience, 75% in training period.
  • The training period is normally 3-12 weeks depending on how fast you learn.
  • Salary paid on the 14th and 27th.
  • Salary will be reevaluated after 6 months.
  • Paid vacation days are accrued one half day per month (7 days per year).
  • 5 paid holidays per year (Can choose US or local holidays).
  • After 6 months on board, possibility of medical benefits.

Requirements:

  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Your own computer and fast stable internet connection. (Minimum: Mac / Win 8 PC with at least 8 GB RAM and a 5 MBPS internet connection).
  • The files we utilize are very large in size because we are a video-based company.
  • A webcam/microphone or an Android/iPhone to attend the weekly staff meeting (Facebook group calls or Skype).
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
