Here are some things you’ll be getting up to: As a Head Bookkeeper, you’ll be responsible for managing a team that is handling 32+ clients and onboarding new clients.
Majority of your responsibilities:
- As a head accountant you will be working as a partner in the firm working with the CEO directly.
- Working with and overseeing the bookkeeping team ensuring that categorizing all transactions, reconciling all bank accounts, reviewing all transactions are being done properly.
- Quarterly and year-end packages.
- Communication with clients to answer any questions that may arise.
- Find a workaround for cases where there are system limitations.
- Setup clients on QBO or Xero and integrate with payroll providers such as SurePayroll and Gusto.
- Work with CPAs and provide Payroll support for all client needs as needed.
- Project management: constantly tracking and following up clients on documentary requirements, updating Notion to state the status of each client (waiting for documents, received documents and ready to be worked on, waiting for categorization, done, etc.)
- For clients that have provided read-only access, retrieval, and organization of monthly bank statements in Basecamp.
- Monthly to-do lists for clients for manual upload of statements in Basecamp.
- Occasional report requests from clients through Basecamp / other communication channels.
- One-off catch-up/clean-up projects as assigned by the CEO.
- Client Management - Discovery calls, onboarding of new clients.

You're working effectively with other LessAccounting teams (Development, Customer Service) and CEO to make sure that the client’s voice is always heard You have the ability to navigate client escalations and handle tricky conversations. You are comfortable with educating new and existing clients about all things LessAccounting including our app, billing, services, and more. Intellectual curiosity: It’s not enough for you to know the what – you want to know the why. You are energized by challenging problems and are persistent/resourceful in your efforts to solve them. You have the drive to make things better: You’re not satisfied with “good enough”, and nothing that needs fixing is just someone else’s job. More details: This position offers hourly-based compensation, plus individual performance-based year-end compensation. Paid time off. Job Type: Full-time This is a full-time position 5 days a week starting with 6 hours daily.
